Podex ("the app") is an iOS application published by bhbs (dev.bhbs.Podex). This policy describes how the app handles podcast feeds, audio, playback state, and transcript data.

Summary

Podex is local-first and private by default. The app does not require an account, does not include advertising trackers, and does not publish your transcripts.

Information the app processes

To download and transcribe podcast episodes, Podex processes:

• RSS or Atom feed URLs you add
• Podcast and episode metadata from those feeds
• Downloaded episode audio
• Playback position and local episode state
• Transcript text and timestamped transcript segments

This information is used to provide podcast playback, local transcription, copying, and export features.

Network Use

Podex uses the network to fetch podcast feeds and download episode audio from the URLs provided by those feeds. Core transcript storage, playback state, and copy/export behavior are local app features.

The app does not automatically upload your audio or personal transcript text as part of normal operation.

On-Device Speech Recognition

Podex is designed to use Apple's on-device Speech recognition when supported. If local recognition is unavailable for the current device, OS, locale, or installed assets, Podex reports that condition instead of silently falling back to server recognition.

Data Stored on Your Device

Podex stores local data inside the iOS app sandbox, including feed metadata, downloaded audio, playback state, and transcripts. Deleting the app removes its sandboxed data according to normal iOS behavior.

Sharing and Export

Podex exports transcripts only when you choose to copy text or share a .txt file. Once exported, that copy is handled by the destination app or service you selected.

What We Do Not Collect

• No user accounts or cloud sync
• No advertising or cross-app tracking
• No automatic transcript publication
• No silent server transcription fallback

Children

Podex is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

We may update this policy when app behavior changes. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect the latest revision.
