Podex is an iPhone app for private, local-first podcast transcription. Add a podcast feed, download an episode, transcribe it on device, and follow the transcript while listening.

Podex is available on the App Store:

Before You Begin

• Podex is designed for iPhone.
• iOS 26 or later is required.
• Local transcription requires a device and language that support Apple's on-device Speech recognition assets.
• Network access is required to fetch podcast feeds and download episode audio.
• Downloaded episodes and transcripts use local storage inside the app sandbox.

Set Up Podex

1. Install Podex from the App Store on your iPhone.
2. Open Podex and add an RSS or Atom podcast feed URL.
3. Choose an episode and download its audio.
4. Start local transcription after the download completes.
5. Follow the transcript while listening, then copy or export text when needed.

Podex stores feed metadata, downloaded audio, playback state, and transcripts on your device. It does not require an account, include advertising trackers, or silently fall back to server transcription when local recognition is unavailable.
