Feeds and Episodes

Podex starts from a podcast feed. Paste an RSS or Atom URL to fetch show details and the available episode list.

Supported Feed Information

Podex reads common podcast metadata when it is present:

• Show title and author
• Artwork URL
• Episode title
• Publication date
• Duration
• Audio enclosure URL

Some feeds omit fields or use inconsistent values. Podex keeps the original feed as the source of truth and shows available information when it can be parsed.

Download Episodes

Choose an episode to download its audio into the app sandbox. Podex tracks download progress, retries recoverable network failures, and keeps partial state from appearing as a completed download.

If a download fails, confirm that the feed's enclosure URL is still reachable, that the device has network access, and that enough local storage is available.

Playback State

Podex saves playback position locally so you can return to an episode later. Downloaded audio is independent from transcript text: you can remove one without automatically removing the other.
